MEET THE MODERATOR
We are thrilled to announce Professor Greg Goodman AM as the moderator for the 2021 Cutera University Clinical Forum.
Professor Greg Goodman AM is an Australian dermatologist and holds academic appointments as Clinical Professor at Monash University, Melbourne and as an Associate Professor at the University College of London, is head of taskforce for the Australasian College of Dermatologists in higher education in Cosmetic Dermatology, president of the Australasian Society of Dermatologists (ASCD) and one of Heads of Faculty Allergan Medical Institute.
Professor Goodman holds a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) in post-acne scarring and a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology (GradDipClinEpi) from Monash University.
He was awarded an Order of Australia (AM) in the general division January 2021.
Professor Goodman lectures in Australia and internationally on skin ageing, skin care, cosmesis and complications of treatments. He has published widelyon acne, acne scarring, and cosmetic dermatology, Professor Goodman reviews for many local and overseas journals and is an International Contributing Editor of the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery.
MEET THE SPEAKERS
Dr Sean Arendse grew up in the United Kingdom and graduated from King College London in 1996. Dr Arendse moved to Australia in 2000 and grew his career as an Emergency Physician. Currently, he continues his role as a consultant and Director of Emergency Medicine Training at a major Melbourne metropolitan hospital.
Dr Arendse is the medical director of Flawless Rejuvenation Skin Clinic in Toorak and Hampton, a member of the Cosmetic Physicians College of Australia, and national trainer and regular speaker for various cosmetic injectable products.
I obtained my undergraduate degree from UWA in 1979. I chose a surgical stream and rotated through all the teaching hospitals in WA, receiving my Surgical Fellowship from the College of Surgeons in 1988.
Dr Ryan De Cruz undertook his medical degree at The University of Melbourne, graduating with Honours in 2009. During medical school he was awarded the Australasian College of Dermatologists’ Hermann Lawrence Prize in Dermatology, whilst also completing a Bachelor of Medical Science in hair disorders. He published his findings in the British Journal of Dermatology and presented an oral lecture at the International Congress of Hair in 2010. After completing his internship and residency at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne, Ryan was selected to undertake part of his dermatology training at St. George’s Hospital NHS, London, United Kingdom.
Throughout his training, Ryan has worked in variety of tertiary referral hospitals across Melbourne and the United Kingdom. He gained vast experience across a range of medical, surgical, adult and paediatric fields of dermatology. He has been appointed Consultant positions at both The Royal Melbourne Hospital and Monash Medical Centre, and has a keen interest in teaching medical students and junior doctors. In 2015, Ryan was awarded two prestigious awards - The Paul Eddington Scholarship (endowed by the Skin & Cancer Foundation Inc.) and the FC Florance Bequest Fellowship. Ryan intends to undertake further study in the role of immunosuppression on the skin, particularly in the field of bone marrow and solid organ transplant recipients.
Dr De Cruz is passionate about providing personalised, holistic and efficient Dermatological care. His interests include eczema, acne and rosacea, psoriasis, skin cancer management, laser treatment and hair loss disorders. Ryan takes pride in his clinical acumen and communication, and is committed to providing excellent care to all his patients.
Dr Mary Dingley has been a cosmetic medicine practitioner since 1987. She received her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Queensland in 1984.
Since then she has pioneered the use of proven new techniques and developed training programmes for other doctors interested in using these systems appropriately, while always maintaining a commitment to deliver a high standard of care for her patients.
Dr Mary is a Fellow of the Cosmetic Physicians College of Australasia and sits on the College board. She was the President of the pre-existing Cosmetic Physicians Society of Australasia in 2007 and 2008. She is also a Fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and was the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for seven years.
Dr Mary is an adviser to government bodies on issues such as laser safety, training, cosmetic medicine and medico-legal issues generally.
Dr Mary is frequently invited to speak and demonstrate at conferences both in Australia and internationally, developing a reputation as an enthusiastic, entertaining and effective communicator and teacher as well as a highly reputable practitioner.
Dr. Keturah (Kit) Hoffman is an experienced cosmetic physician of nearly 30 years’ experience. She specialises in sclerotherapy for leg veins as well as dermal fillers and neuromodulators for lines and wrinkles, and radiosurgical treatments of various skin problems.
As the inaugural president of the Cosmetic Physicians Society of Australasia (now a College of which she is the WA branch representative), she is involved in research and teaching as well as medical politics. Dr Hoffman’s artistic flair combined with perceptive nature, good communication, and a desire to help are what give her the skills to bring patients the results they want. Dr Hoffman is also a visiting medical officer to Mandurah Anti-Ageing Clinic.
Grania is a highly qualified registered nurse with a specific interest in cosmetic nursing and has over 20 years’ experience in the aesthetic industry, initially as a trainer and educator for medical grade lasers and dermal filler, pioneering the use of both in aesthetics in Ireland over 20 years ago.
She moved to the beautiful Central Coast of Australia in 2007 and worked with renowned Plastic Surgeons and Cosmetic Physicians on the Central Coast, Newcastle, and Sydney as a medicosmetic nurse.
She founded and opened Laserclear Cosmetic Clinic in East Gosford in July 2016 and as the name suggests the clinic specialises in laser treatments, both ablative & non ablative.
Dr Heather Jenkins has had a passion for skin since her early years at medical school. She worked as a general practitioner in Mount Isa, Cairns and Brisbane which led to a keen understanding of general medicine. She learnt the pleasure of supporting people with their health. Dr Jenkins then expanded her skill set, working with a dermatologist, gaining her full laser license and honing her skills in all aspects of aesthetic medicine. She believes skin health comes first and can treat a wide variety of skin conditions including rosacea, acne, skin cancer and dermatitis. She enjoys working with her Cutera lasers, especially for vascular and pigmentary disorders. She has given presentations on behalf of Cutera and is is full member of the Cosmetic Physicians College of Australia. She offers a full range of aesthetic procedures including laser treatments, fillers, anti wrinkle injections, sclerotherapy, nonsurgical skin cancer treatments, facial threads and body contouring. She sells her own line of skin care. When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her family, so much so that two of them now work with her.
Mira Kaga, M.D. is a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Temple University with a degree in the bachelor of the arts. She went on to become a TempleMed Scholar and was awarded her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine Internship at Georgetown University Hospital and received her residency diploma from Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.
Dr. Kaga is also Board-Certified in Aesthetic Medicine by the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. Dr. Mira Kaga uses the most advanced techniques in aesthetic medicine that produce beautiful, flawless results with reduced pain, bruising, and downtime. She prides herself in her ability to combine her injectable and laser training in order to achieve flawless, natural results that leave you looking better, not different. Dr. Kaga believes that looking better doesn’t mean you need to look different.
Crystal Patel is a the CEO and Owner of Clinica Lase Cosmetic Skin & Laser Clinics, with locations in Carlton & Ballarat. Crystal splits her time between treating clients and honing the skills of her experienced team of Clinicians.
A qualified nurse, Crystal has always possessed an unsatiable appetite for professional growth and over the past 15 years has become a renowned industry expert in cosmetic lasers, advanced holistic cosmetic treatments, products and nutrition.
When not at Clinica Lase, Crystal can often be spotted at other clinics and practices across Australia conducting training for Cutera Inc in the best practice use of their state of the art laser and aesthetic machines and equipment. Outside of work, Crystal will usually be found creating culinary delights in the kitchen, on the ski slopes or walking her two adorable human size dogs.
E. Victor Ross, MD, is a dermatologist specializing in laser surgery of the skin. He uses a broad array of technologies to reduce red and brown skin lesions, wrinkles and unwanted hair, improve spider veins of the legs and improve the appearance of scars, including acne scars. Other newer noninvasive skin tightening, and fat reduction tools are also available in the practice. Dr. Ross also provides a variety of injectables and fillers to relax upper face lines and replace lost volume of the lower face.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Ross conducts research on novel approaches to skin rejuvenation. He was the first Navy-sponsored fellow in photomedicine and lasers at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he conducted research and clinical trials in photodynamic therapy and novel laser applications. He was elected president of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), the world’s largest professional organization dedicated to promoting excellence in patient care. He was also elected to the board of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Ross was recognized by the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) with the Caroline and William Mark Memorial Award, as well as the Leon Goldman Award, for his lifetime contributions to research.
Presently, he is the director of the Scripps Clinic Laser and Cosmetic Dermatology Center and a frequent lecturer at national and international meetings on cutaneous laser medicine. He also serves on the editorial board of two major dermatologic journals.
Gen is a career customer marketer, working across all customer-facing marketing functions for some of Australia’s biggest brands including Fairfax Media, Seven West Media and Village Roadshow.
For the past 9 years, Gen has developed her skills as a digital specialist, creating bespoke digital marketing strategies, communications and content for small businesses across Australia and New Zealand.
